The BIG snow!

We survived!  Yes, we are proud survivors of the "snowpacolypse", "snowmageddon", whatever you want to call the chaos that went on here in Atlanta this past week.
All I know is that we feel very BLESSED and we are so THANKFUL that our family was HOME together the whole entire time.

Chad has been working from home the past few weeks, so he didn't travel into work that day.
THANK YOU LORD!!

But we voiced many prayers for those who were stuck in that BIG mess.
We heard continuous sirens the whole entire day.

Grayson was so excited at the sight of the first snowfall.  He kept proclaiming throughout the day, "God answered my question!!"
Apparently, he has been praying for snow for quite some time now.

The first thing Chad does at the sight of snowfall is set out several large trays to catch the fresh snow so that he can whip up a batch of SNOW CREAM.
We were eating it for DAYS!

Snow Angels!

Snowballs!!

Obviously, Caroline was not a fan of the snow this year.  She enjoyed watching it from the inside, but being IN it was a different story.

Sledding!

Oh yes! A warm fire...there's a SMILE!!  That's MY girl!!

We got out for a walk.....

and arranged for a few PLAY DATES....

I don't know how she did it, but this little snow bear managed to fall asleep in the below freezing temperatures...

So despite the CRAZINESS, we managed to have an enjoyable few days of being SNOWED IN.

We thank the Lord for His MERCIES and PROTECTION for all of those who were stuck on the roads for an insane amount of time.

January 2014

I always look forward to the month of January--a fresh start to a new year, getting our lives back in order after the Christmas craziness and travels, and just time spent being at HOME.
And that is exactly what we have done this month.
With temperatures being extremely frigid, we have rarely even made an attempt to get out of the house during the weekdays.

And now, looking back over the month, it was just FUN!  The kids stayed in their pajamas most days and they just PLAYED.

There have definitely been moments that we just needed to GET OUT,
but overall, keeping warm inside and snuggling with these kiddos was just what we all needed.

Seriously, these days are just FLYING by and I'm trying to hang on to every precious second!

We do have some excitement going on!  Our porches are being built!  So hopefully, all of this staying inside will be well worth it in the spring when we can get out and enjoy our  new front and back porches!!

Oh yeah, and daddy has been home with us most days this month supervising the construction, so that has probably been most of the reason why I have kept my sanity!!
We have been super spoiled by his presence!!
